Well presented post there J-A-F, & that pic of the 'lead sled' B-36 in flight, blasting
out massive visible 'cork-screw' vortices from its huge pusher-props gives a clue as
to why birds have flight problems in the vicinity of electric wind-turbine complexes.

Interesting suggestion that wind turbines are bad for birds. Whilst they might have issues, they're way down the list of things that humans do/have that are bad for birds:

Off shore turbines are better for birds in many cases because they generally are higher up and sea birds usually fly near the surface. So the new bigger turbines are safer. There is also a study in Norway that showed that painting one of the blades black reduced bird deaths by 70% - presumably it just makes the whole whirling thing more easily visible to them.

I wonder how many birds die from pollution from coal power stations?

Its not as stupid as it sounds. I remember when I was young there were no 5g masts or wind turbines and I could run for miles, I played full games of rugby, cycled for miles and miles, now it is all gone hard work.
When I was 5 the snow came up to my waist in winter, now it hardly comes to my knees.

I blame the gadgets. Its only since they came along

If we had the same incentives here in Aus I'd have bought an EV for my current car too - as much as I want one (despite loving my little turbo terror) the economics made zero sense for me.

I *want* EVs to take over in the worst way, I'm just not a believer in the current power crutch of Lithium batteries.

These batteries could seriously change the game with a few years more R&D and good leadership.

You know a plane prop is spun by an engine at extremelly high rpm while a wind turbine blade is moved by the wind at extremelly low rpm, right?

No, seems you've been playing with toy flight models too long Andres, real big power propellers are geared to suit the actual requirements of sonic-flow in air, for reasons of efficiency, & so the 5.8m diameter 'air screws'
spun by the six massive 71 litre 28-cylinder P & W's pushing on the B-36 were def' geared well down
from engine rpm, yet produced notable dynamic pulses in the infra-sound range, as they strove to
keep their blade tips in synch, avoiding sub-sonic drag-rise regimes..

The huge blade disc zones of large wind-driven electric units like-wise are constrained, & indeed,
must be shut down when ambient air-speed exceeds their capacity for rpm/pitch accommodation.
