tyre testing stats

Post

read some interesting figures on testing so far this year the other day.
with all teams testing added up i think the figures were (roughly) 38000miles testing completed by Michelin and 5500miles completed by Bridgestone.
Surely that has to give Michelin a huge advantage this year with the new tyre rules.

Well - i guess in a different perspective, 5500 miles was completed by Ferrari, and if let's say 7 Michelin-shod teams tested equally it'd be just over 5400 miles each. So Ferrari still has an advantage. On the other hand, I doubt each of the Michelin-shod teams tested an equal amount, therefore perhaps I guess 3 or 4 out of 7 Michelin-shod teams are not in favour....

hey j,
I checked back on those figures and it has Ferrari with 4732miles, BAR with 7843miles, Toyota with 7405miles and Williams with 7189miles.
These figures include different spec cars and the only 05 car they list specifically is the Toyota TF105 which has done the most miles at 5530. :)

let's just hope these figures reflect much valued data to the trailing teams and leads to Ferrari's demise this year...
