They need to improve race pace. It is rubbish. I hope that won't compromise too much their one lap run

This is the "Catch-22". Would you prefer to Qualify on pole and have 4 other cars pass you during the race and finish in P5, Qualify in P5 and end the race in P5, or qualify at P8 and have a few overtakes... and end in P5? Our car is currently behind Merc and RB, battling for mid to bottom 10. It is what it is, at least until the engine upgrade in a few weeks.

Me... I think I would prefer to see us start in the front row... and take it from there. :)

The race pace is exactly where I expect it to be, midfield level, I'm not buying into the FP2 hype, I don't think the front row will be achievable but definitely the second row ahead of Perez. What's important is qualifying ahead of Norris if possible, the race pace is only within 2 tenths which is nothing here where overtaking will be impossible. McLaren have the Mercedes engine with the trickery now, that makes McLaren formidable tomorrow, it will be a tough task to qualify ahead of them, maybe it will even make the Aston Martins a threat

Every weekend it’s one of the Ferraris in the wall in practice session. About time the drivers start taking it easy.

Good recovery by the team getting Sainz’s car repaired and good on Sainz for getting his head back in the game.

P5/P6 with one hundredth between both drivers is about as good as its going to get.

Hopefully they are able to gain some race pace overnight. They are going to need the points because McLaren will undoubtedly be faster at Monza.

It could have been slightly better i.e. Chrales in front of Gasly, nevertheless good job by team.
We need a miracle. We need only one racing lap.

According to charles, he overdid it a bit there with the front and the car was too oversteery at the end. Said he was confident about p4 without that problem and was happy with his lap overall.

I wondered out loud about this elsewhere, but seeing Gio so close to both Ferraris (less than a tenth) makes me wonder if they could be trialling the new spec PU in the Alfas?
