According to this even mazepins seat might not be safe. Would be quite something if he got swapped out for Zhou.

This is what I thought as well. I see more Giovinazzi going to Haas than Mazepin going to Alfa with Bottas. And I believe Mazepin is still under contract at Haas. So unless his father is bringing investment money into Alfa, that would be a big downgrade over Gio in my opinion.Manoah2u wrote: ↑07 Sep 2021, 20:19It's much more LIKELY that Ferrari will do a swap with Schumacher and Giovanazzi,El Scorchio wrote: ↑07 Sep 2021, 17:03Agree- completely unprofessional and fairly cruel if this is at face value and he knows Giovanazzi doesn't have a drive for next year. Especially before any formal announcement regarding his future has been made. And also shows he doesn't even understand the number allocation rules.Jolle wrote: ↑07 Sep 2021, 15:33
So, even is Gio isn't in the grid next year, he can't use 99 yet. Only, I think after two consecutive seasons of the number not being used again, it's "back in the pool" again.
and by the way, if this is a "hint" to gio not in F1 next year, it's quite a dick move from him. but... wouldn't be his first.
FOM should just prohibit him from ever using #99 if that's what he's done.
which would mean he's hinting at #99 being his TEAMMATE.
If things go really south between Mick and Nikita, or perhaps already have, we might actually see a mid-season swap ala RedBull. Perhaps Mazespin's daddy will pay extra money cash in hand for Gio to get into the Haas seat next season.
It would also make sense to be honest - Giovanazzi doesn't have the same drive to prove himself like Schumacher imho, and potentially will be more open for moving aside for Mazepin. But far more important : I would be pretty sure that they don't want Ferrari driver and RUSSIAN Shwartzman to beat life's failure that is Mazepin.
This is imho far more likely.
BUT, if he's claiming he knows De Vries is going to replace Gio and puts it out like that, then he indeed is a even more total DCK then already believed to be.
Let's see, Haas has focused entirely on their 2022 car for a long time so it may be not that bad. Alfa Romeo is not a top team either. Anyway - I've also understood Mazepin's tweet that #99 will be his teammate rather than his number.codetower wrote: ↑07 Sep 2021, 21:04This is what I thought as well. Schwarzman doesn’t really impress in his second year F2.Manoah2u wrote: ↑07 Sep 2021, 20:19

What the hell is that?
You are right about the SL points, that was my calculation too. As a NZ fan I'd love to see Lawson in F1 - he's been fast in many seriesNathanOlder wrote: ↑08 Sep 2021, 10:48Liam Lawson is more deserving, hes well ahead of Albon in the DTM, he's 6yrs younger than Albon, only I'm not sure if he has a super licence ?
edit: Having looked in to it, I believe Lawson currently has 25 points towards a super licence. So by the end of the year, he needs a further 15 points. He currently sits 2nd in the DTM championship, if he finishes there, he will get 16 points so would then hold a Super Licence for 2022.
If RedBull find a seat somewhere for one of their drivers, it should be Lawson!
