So far so good… Both cars comfortably into Q3… This is the one that counts! Come on!

P3 would be an amazing starting position for the Sprint… P2 would be even better!!! (One can dream a bit, right?)

Confirmation Bottas to take grid penalties on Sunday, so a bit more to play for
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

The Mercedes are mighty quick in S2 though… Approx 2 and a half tenths to Bottas in the sector alone, but S1 is pretty impressive with both McLaren’s topping the times in that sector… S3 is on the hunt, but a tenth behind Mercedes and on par with RBR

Ah man, that towed lap did the job for Max, would have been second row for us. Amazing for Daniel as well, both our boys are so close.

Wasn’t meant to be… But P4-P5, knowing Bottas will take an engine penalty, not a bad result at all… Looking good so far and hopefully we can make a move on tomorrow’s Sprint.

Kudos to Daniel with his best qualifying for McLaren since Spain!

Based on the lap times, McLaren will have the upper hand in the race and potentially tomorrow, S2 will be compromised for anyone following closely another car and McLaren has an advantage in both S1 and S3 towards them

Lando says he messed up the last chicane, P3 was very possible. Good session all the same…

I don't think they will be a contender tomorrow. Mclaren is much faster in Monza and kinder to the tyres.

This is exactly what the team needed after a few bad weekends to build up morale and momentum… The Sprint tomorrow hopefully will be fun and uneventful in terms of carnage, but it’s great to start at the front of the pack since the problems are usually in the midfield with drivers trying to make ground on the first lap… Been at the front and behind the fast cars should give them a bit of breath

It’s good to know and confirm the strengths of the car, relieved that Monza didn’t spring a nasty surprise.

A bit off topic, but I’m seriously impressed with Gasly, really proving to be moving towards to the top guys. McLaren should keep him as a viable plan B if one of our seats become available, likely from 2023.
