Red Bull RB20

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

There’s not much of a water slide at all on whatever this thing is.

They are showing an actual car on the livestream. Still can't tell where the intakes are. Either they have hidden them on purpose, or they are running some kind of upside-down NACA duct in the roof of the wing on the front of the sidepod.

Forget about the car i'm tremendously impressed with the lighting desingers/coordinators to keep that sidepod dark from all angles even on a stage! =D>

If any, the RB20 we're seeing on the low quality pictures looks more like the launch spec W14 with an upper lip and a vertical inlet - of course if it's true that the RB20 actually has vertical inlets.

The RB20 inlet looks more comparable in size to the Ferrari S-Duct than to the W14 inlet... well done Honda.
They do have a fat centerline (a lot similar to the W14).
There's no chance that a tiny s-duct inlet would be enough cooling unless there were fans at the back of the car drawing suction...
Even at, oh, I don't know, a cold rainy day in Silverstone? 8) We know people at the teams read these forums. Someone somewhere in Milton Keynes is probably having a hard time restraining themselves from laughing as they take the mick out of us. At this point I think we might be best off sticking with the speculation thread lol. An image with no visible sidepod inlets and no features on the floor is truly fascinating but let's be real it ain't the RB20 we'll ever see.

We've seen a car but are none the wiser.

Dumb question, but can you use a fan to blow across rads for cooling in the regs?

Looks like a decline right at the rear, but not much of one. Reminds me more of their old coanda designs than the 'water slide' variations we've seen.

The official RB youtube page even made it so you couldn't rewind, but you can of the F1 one:

Was that a car? Looked like a model to me, there were no inlets at all. It was all just flat there.

I dare to say I’ve seen vertical inlets on the actual car in the livestream.
