I was surprised the FIA didn't red flag the race, I think I saw a speck of gravel on the exit of Eau Rouge.

It was very nasty on Stavelot as well.

Most important thing is that racing is incredible and super exciting. The next one cannot come soon enough.

Even with damage, Ham looks quicker than Leclerc
Appeared to be no damage on Hamilton´s car. Max was holding Leclerc, with clean air, he just vanished in front of Hamilton again
He missed all his left bargeboard and his front left wing flow conditioner.

Did Leclerc have damage from the "crash" with Piastri ? I saw him throw the car into Oscar, I just didn´t notice it there was any damage for any of them. I assume not so much otherwise how could he remain so close to Antonelli at the end?!
Leclerc touched Piastri with his wheel/tire.
Maybe the aero work on that wheel was a little compromised.
After the pitstop his car should be in perfect conditions.

I'm curious how much Hamilton was losing from that bargeboard since it's now forced by regulations to push air in instead of out, opposite of what aero guys would want.
Still it changed his car balance and he wanted more FW.

To add salt to that team didnt adjust the front wing at the pitstop

Yeah, most saying the same. It’s been a s***show since Canada tbh, but it’s what we’ve got, and every weekend is somehow a sell out and breaking records. Mind boggling.

Antonelli winning and seeing off Russell is the only saving grace this season.

He lost the entire left bargeboard and left diveplane.
Oh, sorry. I didn´t see that. I was following the GP on the second screen and was doing something else on a main screen. Did Leclerc have damage from the "crash" with Piastri ? Lewis has been done hard and dry today by his team and the FIA.
5s for taking someone out of the race is very generous to him.
Yup, I don´t like someone destroying a rival´s race and almost getting away with it. George gave plenty of space on the inside but Hamilton just carried a bit too much speed and understeered into him

Both FIArrari drivers should have received 10s on this race
are you new to the sport? first lap incidents are always taken more generously and even rus admitted it was a racing incident. apart from the short run to la source, this was the first major braking zone in the race. ham's penalty was not justified.

too bad Ham got the stupid penalty. from the radio chatter he was going pit early or perhaps a 2 stop?

It was harsh but Hamilton wasn’t fully in control. There was a correction on the steering as he lost the rear. That led to him running slightly wide and into Russell. The stewards always sanction contact after a loss of control more harshly. I do think if Russell had been able to continue it wouldn’t have been a penalty.

+5s penalty for Hamilton (instead of hte usual +10) was correct, IMHO. Russel left more than enough room and the only reason they touched is because Hamilton refused to give up and didn't brake earlier, even if he didn't have "direct intention" , he played the chicken game.

On the other hand, LeClerc's was a slam dunk +10s. Lucky escape and lucky VSC pitstop, should have been battling Verstappen for P2, instead was comfortably home. Needs the luck, his season has just 'woken up'.

On another note :

In the post race interview with Chris Medland, Reichmarshall Wolff let it slip
"....... we have the best engine..."

Cheeky bastard. Has an ADUO in his pocket.

It's a first lap racing incident. Even Russell said so himself. It was just the FIA defaulting to their "punishment must fit the consequence" way of doing things than actually judging the actions.

I think George had gone too hot into the corner having lost places on the straight. Whilst he would make the corner I don’t think he left himself, or Lewis, any options other than to touch. He said himself it was a racing incident but some posters on here are just happy to blame Lewis. Rent free head living for some 🙄

It's ok not liking Hamilton but why make up stuff like this? Obvious damage to the car and obvious loss of performance accruing from that.
