I think Lance will only leave if he wants to. And maybe, even if he wants to leave F1, he might have to convince his father. One of the main reasons Lawrence invested in an F1 team was to see his son become world champion (that must be his dream). There were some rumors in previous years that Lance no longer wanted to continue in F1 (although I don't believe those rumors at all).

AN being such a competitive man, I do not see how we can expect him to compromise on anything to achieve his goal with AMR. For sure AN must have asked Lawrence about Lance and how serious he is to win the championship.

Perhaps Lance may retire from F1 after 2026, at least to get a chance of driving an AN designed F1 car.

It is hard to see Aston winning the constructors' championship, which is the team's goal, with Lance. Nothing shows that if he drove an AN-designed car he would win. AN's cars are not easy to drive. He said this during an interview.

Since they are not fighting for anything in 2025, they should give Felipe Drugovich the opportunity to increase mileage and increase experience or to any talent that can be a candidate.

If BRAWN can win championship, AMR winning for 2026 is also possible if,

1) AN outsmart other teams in his design philosophy
b) Honda deliver an outstanding engine that is superior to other teams

yeah i have often wondered in the last year if lance even wants to be there. how hard is it for him to break it to his dad that he doesnt want to be there anymore. it cant be easy for him, with the press he gets, and his inability to drive as well as his teammate. all that and the vibe you get from him, it just seems like he doesnt enjoy it, and i cant say that i blame him. but i have to say that a lot of his bad press is his own fault, not even talking about what talent he does or doesnt have. there would be a lot less stress in the hypercar program im sure.

honestly, i think that if honda are close to mercedes, or whoever has the best power unit next year, aston have an excellent chance to win races. i think newey will design a competitive car. things like pit stops sometimes fall off when the performance isnt there. they will have a big learning curve if they are suddenly stuck at the top of the grid, but sometimes people dig a lot deeper when they are actually fighting for something. theyll make some mistakes im sure, but their pit crew arent a bunch of rookies. i think theyll know what they need to do when the time comes. there are so many things though that have to be in place to win a championship. but yeah, i wouldnt bet against newey in a regulation change

It occured to me after Alonso heaped praise on Max, that he Alonso should go to Redbull.
Yuki only has 1 year at best.
Max is still winning, has #1 status, and a team of engineers designing a car around him, so has no reason to change teams.
Alonso could end his career at Redbull. He can also drive tricky cars so why not.
Aston is a waste of time as far as I see.
2027 would be their year. Alonso would be what? 45?

2026 will be ALONSO final year. He had a chance to go to Red Bull or to Mercedes and he turned it down.

In an interview, President of Honda Racing Koji Watanabe said : " “However, as for us, we will continue to voice our opinions as Honda in deciding the drivers for 2026 and beyond.

“Obviously, the team had the final say in deciding which drivers join the team… But the situation will be the same [like at Red Bull] where we will have our say.”

By " we will have our say" means injecting high sponsor revenue to the team. So it could be MAX, TSUNODA or whoever will be able to offer real chances of winning the constructor championship in the new era.
