dont go and get the honda fanatics all fired up dude. this place will turn into a $%^tshow before you can say watanabe. the last thing we need is to replay the whole 2015 argument againDarth-Piekus wrote: ↑20 Feb 2026, 10:29A few years back the Honda engine had the same issues with Mclaren. Fans of Honda tried to pin it all to Mclaren and their very tight chassis while ridiculing different opinions from the fans of Mclaren. How the tables have turned and we were proven right when we were saying that Honda had issues fundamentally. What is their excuse this time to have gone so many steps back?
They won’t go back to Mercedes, even if this year turns out to be bad. The advantages from making your own PU are way too high, Honda has build good engines in the past and they will again the question is when.Rikrikrik wrote: ↑20 Feb 2026, 10:43Its absolute unnaceptable a Company like Honda build this disaster, meanwhile Audi, Foord(redbull) made a strong and releable PU for THE FIRST TIME. Sorry but "they start late" or whatever, they are world champions in the last seasons, they has no excuses for this state. Now all things is more clear than ever, Cowell leaved as the TP and goes to PU front because Honda messed up and they dont know what to do. Its absolute incrediable. In the 7th race nothing will be change, the PU will to be continue bad, but fiable. and thats it. I simples dont see nothing for this year. I wouldn't rule out Lawrence seeking out Mercedes again, really.
There is big difference, though: Toro Rosso is a B-team (finding, training & preparing rookie talent for the A-team). Not that long ago, AM was a regular podium finisher, aim is to win races. No world champion would expect or silently tolerate this level of performance. Particulary not someone so near the end of the career, with time being crucial. And from what I've read about him (by Ferrari & other former employees), Fernando is really good at providing feedback and constructively working with teams.ispano6 wrote: ↑20 Feb 2026, 00:15Actually, you bring up a very important point that I was going to mention. The personalities of the drivers that Honda worked with during the Toro Rosso years were either rookies or drivers that provided good development feedback. Albon, Gasly, Hartley, and Kvyat all played an important part in the development. These guys aren't the egos of former world champions and thus they have a more level headed and measured interaction with the engineers.
Its a VERY optimist way. I think they will need so much time to assemble all things, after this disaster during pre season i think to better thing just for 2027, or, their problems has a "easy" solutions and they just dont expected so many problems
i mean, its highly doubtful they would, or even could. all the PU manufacturers only have a certain amount of engines. but if they literaly wont finish a single race for the first half of the season i think all options are on the table for lawrence stroll. honda arent ready. they need to stop putting themselves into situations that make them look so bad. neither honda or aston martin will benefit from becoming the joke of the paddock for an entire year just to rush an unfinished product onto the track.issey wrote: ↑20 Feb 2026, 11:06They won’t go back to Mercedes, even if this year turns out to be bad.
