IanLep wrote:We all know about UAVs etc......How about the Concept of Remoted-Controlled F1 ????
Given the issues of Safety and the sheer amount of cost, weight, material, technology that goes into 'supporting' an onboard driver; wouldn't it be fun to see what would happen if the F1 cars were designed to be driven by Remote Control.
The Telemetry Data feedback (cameras, diagnostics etc) is substantial these days and should be able to cope with most conditions.
The driving skills and tactics would have to change drastically too, as any propogation delay in control/feedback would require Drivers to concentrate further ahead of their position to prevent collisions etc.
Just a thought
Actual hide and seek? That would require actual interaction with the actual world.Jackuar wrote:Or may be chuck F1 once and for all and play hide-and-seek?
I'm now even less interested than I was before.IanLep wrote:Okay here's my 'twist' on removing the driver from the car and potentially making it a more interesting sport....
Imagine the vehicle is 'remote-controlled'... I know it's a big 'stick-in-the-throat' issue to some but at least 'consider' it.
With this concept there is no reason why an F1 car cannot be driven by Multiple Drivers. That is, different drivers could be swapped in & out to best utilise their driving skills in terms of race starting, overtaking, fuel conservation etc.
It would be interesting to see how the different F12 teams 'swap' their drivers based on another team's Driver selection etc???
Who would you pick for different aspects of an F1 race from eaxh of the teams for example???
