I give my cars order based on jerez first tests timesheets, couple of newsreporters who watched testing around track, engineer comments what kind of program did they run and drivers happines with car compared with last year car. Also i taked last year final order and possibility of how much space have teams devoloping evolutions of car from last season into this season.

i only excluded williams from all of that, also i excluded all optimistic announcments from drivers and teams boss because some of them are good liars.

Watch Lotus carefully. The way these tyres are is working out beautifully for Raikkonen.

lotus has been in the top three on each day of each test session except one 4th and then today's rain. no other team has done that, nevertheless been consistently up there, so i'd say they're in pretty good shape. don't understand how some of you rank them 5th or 6th.....
Best regards. I guess this explains why I'm not at my post!

Not that I think McLaren or Ferrari have produced bad cars, but I just have a sneaking suspicion that Red Bull are very comfortable. There isn't the panic that seemed to grip them last season when they were exhaust tinkering. Whatever tests they do they seem to be able to do them in a way that keeps the car firmly in the background.

As for Lotus, I think they're going to be very dangerous to McLaren and Ferrari and maybe even RB themselves. They were the team behind RB that impressed me the most last season, save for the two bad decisions they made about getting the exhaust system on their car earlier and too much time wasted with drag reduction.

I am keeping an eye on Lotus. The fact that they finished 4th last year was due to the fact that Grosjean had its "issues" that costed the team points, and if it wasn't for that, I think they would have jumped McLaren and finished 3rd in the constructors'. It was the most reliable car on the grid and I think they have the best pair of drivers too.

With Lotus I'm seeing a sort of pattern in their recent evolution. When Alonso took two in a row with what back then was Renault, they slowly built up the car in order to be dominant. They finished 4th (2002), 4th (2003), 3rd (2004), 1st (2005), 1st (2006), now they finished 5th (2010), 5th (2011) - with a car that had a lot more potential than this, 4th (2012). Who knows, maybe we'll see two in a row again. I would really like Kimi to win a championship with this team.

My one change to all the lists so far is the order of the two new teams: so far, without the definitive packages, the Marussia looks better than the Caterham, and I also think there's greater development potential on the Marussia.

I think they could well get the 10th spot this year.

It's goint to be really tough to know which car is the fastest. With the margins shrinking even more this year, the driver is going to have much more influence on the starting position(last year Kimi Raikkonen made "tiny" misstakes every now and then and it cost him a lot). So, I think(based on recent history) both McLaren and Lotus are probably not going to look as good as they are... maybe if Grosjean gets his act togheter he'll have one hell of a season. Is there enough difference in the performance of the frontrunners for a "weak" qualifier to succeed? But then again, qualifying is not everything. It'll be one hell of a mix I guess and out of that mix... Alonso will prevail!;-)

2) Mercedes/Williams/Lotus
3) Ferrari
4) Sauber
5) Force India
6) Torro Rosso
7) Marussia
8 Caterham

I can't see the top 7 separated by any more than a second though.

Mclaren will struggle with this drivers, Button also said they are trying to understand new car. Also Alonso said that every change he made with his car, the car reacted the way he expected. So on this basis my list is:

1.) RBR, Ferrari
3.) McLaren
4.) Mercedes, Lotus
6.) Sauber, Williams
8.) Force India, Toro Rosso
10.) Caterham, Marussia
