It was a lose-lose situation for him, if he went to England (and no top 4 team wanted him) and didnt reach the level of 97-01 people would say he's past it and if he went to America people would say he's a money grabber. I think if they offered him the money they were willing to pay it would have been stupid not to accept it! He achieved a hell lot in football, virtually every club cup but sadly they won't be regarded as highly as they deserve.
