Because with the proliferation of TV, motorsports is seen by more people than ever before. That is is why Schumacher is more prominent than any that have gone before... even Senna and Prost did not get the TV time Schumacher has.

I wasn't familiar with the word (english is a foreign language to me) and I had to look it up. I got this definition for it from Google:
S: (adj) outstanding, prominent, salient, spectacular, striking (having a quality that thrusts itself into attention) "an outstanding fact of our time is that nations poisoned by anti semitism proved less fortunate in regard to their own freedom"; "a new theory is the most prominent feature of the book"; "salient traits"; "a spectacular rise in prices"; "a striking thing about Picadilly Circus is the statue of Eros in the center"; "a striking resemblance between parent and child"
I suppose you mean something else with the word then? 8)

Look pRo, instead of trying to be a funny f**ker why don't you just accept that the two posters you are trying to be clever with are right and that Micky S is one of the most prominent / greatest drivers in the history of the sport? No one is saying that Agostini hasn't achieved alot in his life but it looks like you are picking an argument for the sake of it.

I rarely answer posts that involve calling names...

...but I won't ever agree that Schumi is the greatest in the history of motorsport. He isn't. In my opinion. He just isn't. I can and will argue that till the day I die and no name calling will change that. One of the greatest? Sure. But not THE greatest.

Some other words? Maybe. I'm sorry that english isn't my native language and I have trouble with some uncommon words. I still don't think that you need to call me names just because I don't understand everything.

I'm not calling anyone any names.
pRo wrote:...but I won't ever agree that Schumi is the greatest in the history of motorsport. He isn't. In my opinion.
I never said he was. What I disagreed with pRo was your denial up to this point to accept that Schumi is one of the greatest drivers ever to sit in a racing car and accept what an amazing brain the man has. I didn't particularly like Ayrton Senna when he was alive but still accept what an amazing racing driver he was and can easily accept that he is one of the greatest racers ever to grace a cockpit.
pRo wrote:One of the greatest? Sure.
That's more like it.
pRo wrote:I still don't think that you need to call me names just because I don't understand everything.
That's not me calling you names. This started because...
jwielage wrote:he is certainly the most prominant driver in motor sports history.
to which you replied...
pRo wrote:You do know that the motorsports history goes beyond 90's and it's not all done on four wheels?

I'm waiting to hear your thoughts why you think Schumi was more prominent than Agostini..
This was then explained to you by Kilcoo316
kilcoo316 wrote:Because with the proliferation of TV, motorsports is seen by more people than ever before. That is is why Schumacher is more prominent than any that have gone before... even Senna and Prost did not get the TV time Schumacher has.
You then found the meaning for prominent...
Google dictionary wrote:S: (adj) outstanding, prominent, salient, spectacular, striking (having a quality that thrusts itself into attention)
...before going about disagreeing with it.
pRo wrote:i suppose you mean something else with the word then?
I think that anyone is a bit silly in not accepting that Schumi is one of the greatest, just as they would be if they denied that Senna was one of the greatest. Maybe a poor understanding of English has led us to this point, but your reply to jwielage in particular was ultimately a bit of a piss take for no reason IMO.

Remember mine term "most successful"? That's I think acceptable by both Schuey haters and Shuey lovers because it is unquestionable since he's the guy with officially highest scores. "Greatest ever" or "dirtiest ever" are just opinions that can't be backed up by data.
