He is my favorite driver and has brought me even closer to the sport. His agresiveness on the track, his ability to pass, and his driving in the wet is very impressive.
I am 100% confident that he will win the championship and it should have been his second championship but he was cheated out of that last year.
He would have won more last year but his former teammate did not act like a champion and cried the entire time he was at Mclaren, but thats a whole other story.
Fun Prediction: Lewis Hamilton
10 Championships
101 Wins
75 Poles
75 Fastests laps

He has more talent than Michael Schumacher and I like Michael but the Ferrari team gets favoritism from the FIA. Michael did not have the competition that Lewis faces. We have a lot more talented drivers in Formula 1 than ever before. Also Michael had traction control.DaveKillens wrote:It's nice to cheer for and appreciate a wonderful, new talent in Formula One. But I've seen this all before. But there was no cheating by Ferrari last year. Although they sometimes played rough off the track, Lewis flat out threw his title chance away. The rookie cracked under the pressure and drama happening around him.
He will probably get a few WDC's, maybe even up there around six, seven, maybe eight. But even the best driver cannot win without a very good team and car behind him. Schumacher won seven, but he had a unprecedented superior team behind him 100%. Senna, who I consider better than Lewis, only garnered three titles. And remember, just like last year, winning a title doesn't come easy, or often.
Lewis Hamilton will most likely take his place amoung the greats in racing, but I don't worship him. I like him, and cheer for him. But he's very human, can and does make mistakes, and has a very long and difficult career ahead of him.
Let's put this thread in it's proper perspective. I've seen the same enthusiasm and adoration, cheering and proclamations of greatness from countless Schumacher fans. And today, we witness his influence. When Schumacher entered F1 in 1991, racing was considered a fringe sport in Germany. Roll the clock forward to today, and we see five German drivers racing in F1. That's his true legacy.
Just a few short years ago forums and message boards were swamped by Schuey fans, some more enthusiastic than knowledgeable. The same applies today to Lewis Hamilton.
