There were a few drivers who were not able to use overtake mode today. I think FIA had a screw up with their systems

Is this something the FIA controls? Is it connected to their GPS system?

Yes I believe so. They must have a way to stop the individual cars from using overtake mode when they are not allowed to.

The whole weekend has been a mess with the FIA's controls. This is why RB and VCARB had some stoppages during free practice. FIA has somehow managed to turn the car off.

And also to be fair that gap was exaggerated a lot because the Mercs stopped under the VSC and Ferrari didn't. So maybe at the end the gap would've been more like 5 or 6 seconds.

I don't think Ferrari would have been able to 1 stop like they did. Mercedes saw almost 0 deg.

It's a shame there won't be a Bahrain GP this year (probably), Ferrari might actually do very well there

I think Ferrari was quite decent today actually. Without the VSC it would have been close.

Now grant it, the Mercs were doing constant 22s with 40 lap old Hards, so those zero deg runs they were having from testing seem to have been real, but Ferrari isn't too far off. They're definitely clear of McLaren and I would say RedBull as well, but perhaps for RedBull we need to see Max race from a normal starting position to better gauge that.

Not bad at all considering the track characteristics.

Leclerc will have to work much harder to beat his teammate this year, which should be fun to watch.

Russel cried so much in the end with all the media today .. The guy couldn't stop saying "that was sketchy", "i am happy i finished the race". This guy can never match the likes of Max, Charles or Lewis. Not even Lando

Lando also said on the media pen that they think, with the data they (McLaren) have, Ferrari have the best car. Not the overall best of course, but he was talking in terms of cornering performance.

A shame the engine trickery is taking away from a potential close battle at the front. I am hating these regulations with a passion at the moment, but at least there would be something worth watching if we had a proper battle for the win.
Multiple drivers have mentioned how important development rate will be with these cars, so let's see. Maybe it starts to get more fun towards the midpoint of the season.

I watch on sky sports f1 and i saw his interview with Button and also in the driver's cooldown room. It was so cringe man, the guy couldn't stop talking. He said all those things and kept coming back to "it was sketchy" or "i am happy to finish".

The whole time i was thinking "does this guy even care that he won the race?" It looked so awkward for Charles, even Kimi

It bodes well for this year itself. Just my personal opinion, but I feel Ferrari can still clinch both titles this year. The only thing is that each and every upgrade the bring MUST work. Thats it. We've got the best driver combo in the entire grid and the car is spectacular.

Also, if every team doesn't qualify for ADUO after seeing this then fia is clearly bought

Ferrari lost the race to strategy.

Agreed. The second VSC was a no brainer pit opportunity.

They couldn’t stop under the second VSC as the pit lane was already closed by the time they arrived. No?

Ferrari believes that after today's race, they are on average 0.4/0.5 seconds slower than Mercedes.

However, there are "good" updates coming soon to the chassis, and they plan to close a large part of the gap with these.

It will be a very busy year in terms of updates.
