Aero correlation problems. Parts didn't work as intended so they removed em all together. Better to let the tea-tray function on its own than making it turbulent in hopes of energizing.

The nose also changed in Spain so that would have modified the air flow.

You're right, because this was before they found out about correlation issues but I'm still surprised why they'd remove it completely instead of synchronizing with the vortexes coming from the nose.

Probably had trouble with the shape and flow structures in that area. Probably realized that the whole area needs a re-think.
