On closer inspection I think you are correct. The newer photo is slightly out of focus which makes the blend look smoother than it is.

Not sure if I'm seeing things, but to me it looks like the nosecone is shorter. Not sure if that is the case, or even if that was the case in France.
It's definitely different from the French spec nose (below), it seems to have a smoother profile.

Without a doubt there is a difference. There is a pronounced “slope” or change of angle on the bottom part of the nose

Would it be beneficial enough for the money spend ? Noses are not cheap...

How much of the nose would need to be rebuilt to create that change, or would the wings and crash structure be kept and just the carbon fibre bulk be updated and the wings reattached?

It's an odd little change though, I wonder what affect that will have.

No idea if that will give enough strength in the join of the winglets to the body of the nose but I suppose they could.

But the change looks almost inconsequential, unless something has changed inside the nose too?

McLaren did not really have any vanity panel on top of the actual crash structure like some other teams if this image (mirrored in orange outline) is anything to go by - it all seems structural up to where the seam used to be (in blue outline) ... so if there was a change towards more of a step design (green line) it would be above the seam = meaning a completely new nose?

Unless of course they added the bump on top, making the nose higher (yellow) ...

Either way, the very first image from the side will tell us what's what.

I can't see a difference, it is just that the out of focus blue is more prominent than the out of focus black carbon, making the latter look like it is concave (as per the red line above).

They've changed the front brake cooling ducts
