In my view Cyril is doing a very good job with bis resources. Fighting for best of the rest in the last three years.. You can't expect more than that with his budget.

Cyril did really good after bad year they had last year. He evaluated where problems lie. He fired Chester, hired new aero guy and got Fry as leader of their chassis department to sort out Enstone side. They bounced back and now some results are showing.

Even now when he knew he would lose Ric at end of this year he went and got Alonso.

People just don't like the guy because he is a straight shooter.

Cyril...better than Bino

However, the baggage this team had to begin carrying when they came back as a full constructor (2015) must have been onerous, as the memories from the 2005 and 2006 seasons were not so far removed from memory. Alonso's blue cars beating out Kimi and Michael were/still are classic F1 memories. For a plethora of reasons (including budgets, competition, rules, staff, etc.), Cyril's team was not even a shadow of Flavio's. Of all the TP's currently on the grid, Cyril seems to be one of them that I would choose to work for.

Cyril was respectable when he was working at Lotus (Tony Fernandes Lotus). They seemed a legit team but for problems with funding before they kicked the bucket. With what we know now, not one of the small teams could sruvive this unforgiving formula anyway.

First, it was a joke.
Second, Vettel does NOT need to partner Alonso, i merely mentioned Alonso WOULD be capable to bring that car to a podium, it has zilch to do with Vettel or anybody for that matter, especially since it was a joke.
Ahhh. No I meant. Even in hindsight, idk if Renault would be a good proposition. I havenโ€™t got much faith in Cyrilโ€™s leadership.
I clearly agree on the Cyril part, he's not the right man for the job, he fits in the line of people like Claire, Kaltenborn, Binotto, Mattiacci etc.
Idk if I would agree with Mattiaci. We barely saw enough of him. Didnโ€™t he only hold office for like 7 months?

But I agree that Kaltenborn and Claire dont have that sort of humility that will help them progress as TOs

Apparently there is a vacancy in the Williams team. Seb just bought a Williams car. Is this his way of applying for the job? :D

I'd lmao if Vettel took a SEBattical, invested in the team, and in 2022 became official race driver alongside Russell and they beat Mercedes  Imagine that.

Actually, I was thinking that Seb might fancy Claire's job. He can't beat Hamilton, perhaps he now wants to beat Prost instead. They're equal on WDCs. He just needs a few podiums as team manager to get ahead of him. :D

It does sound story book-ish, but yesterday I had a fleeting notion of Hamiton and Woolf going there to create a new legend.

Nah, thats Hollywood.

I doubt it. Wolff moved out of Williams for a reason. I donโ€™t know/remember if he stated his reasons before but itโ€™s like getting back with your ex - it only feels right until what split you in the first place resurfaces.

More like moving back into where you were with your ex, when they have moved out

In best silly season keeping, Peter Windsor is suggesting- Graham Louden, Chandook and lowe for the new Williams management.
After initially laughing it off, They could do worse.

Isnโ€™t Lowden old Marussia/Manor CEO? Tbh if Seb is really considering moving on from driving (which I hope he isnโ€™t) I wonder if he could be a good advisor role there, like Prost at Renault/Lauda at Merc type deal
