They are now 5th force on the grid hence likely to finish 5th in WCC.
We had a good first half nevertheless, now let’s hope for 2024 but I’ m less confident now that everyone switched to RBR style car
He and the team are just coping or putting on a brave face to stall Lawrence Stroll or not let the morale drop. They have been talking about it being track specific performance issues when in reality they have been worse at everything except 90deg corners. Im not even sure they're better there anymore. How can the tyres effect one team and one team only which was already losing ground to other teams before they were introduced? If anything stiffer front tyres should've helped them considering their poor front end.vas_04614 wrote: ↑22 Jul 2023, 18:54I think ALO said same thing in TV Pen today, new tyre construction has changed cars performance.vas_04614 wrote: ↑09 Jul 2023, 19:07Just taking step back and looking at it. No team was really slow today.
Don't think even VER lapped any car today, race was, pace-wise very different from other races.
Hards/Med didn't have deg advantage over softs in first stint and Softs didn't have any pace advantage in last stint.
May be because of new tyres!!! Have to see what teams say going into next race
Is it purely tyre related? or tyre is affecting aero? its for teams to figure that out but things have changed and its for bad w.r.t AM.
Yes, we see quite well how it affected RB… Let’s cut the crap guys, car went backwards and that’s it… While others rebuilt their cars during the year AM did very little and those are facts
Always remember the car had to go forwards to go backwards. I said it before and I'll say it again. No one here appreciated it when we were scoring podiums left right and centre. Consistent top 10 was always the target form the beginning. When the team started overachieving everyone jumped on the bandwagon and treated Aston like a top team. The truth is it's still far from that. If 2 or 3 years from now the team is still targeting and achieving this same thing then I'll agree we have an alpine problem. Until then there will be many ups and downs. No need to go after people's heads because of it.PinkFloydPulse wrote: ↑23 Jul 2023, 16:46Yes, we see quite well how it affected RB… Let’s cut the crap guys, car went backwards and that’s it… While others rebuilt their cars during the year AM did very little and those are facts
All excuses, incapable folks hide behind excuses. Keep defending them soon they will be behind williams then we will look for another one.
What does the tyre change have to do with Mercedes? Also aston were poor in Austria & Spain before the new tyres were introduced. The other teams did a better job with their upgrades.
