I think it is important to recognize that Mercedes don't just have a stronger engine, but 30 HP over Ferrari right now. Renault cried about a 15 HP deficit for the last reg set.

On a power track like this, even keeping in touch with McLaren and Mercedes is an incredible result. The chassis and aero departments deserve a raise.

i think we need to take that 30 HP deficit claim with a pinch of salt, we truly don't know it could be less, but i guess when they get that engine upgrade ticket we will know..

Not to mention the fact that McLaren has more development freedom due to their massive engine power advantage over Ferrari. Not to mention that a lot of their gains could conceivably be from learning to use the higher potential of their engine more effectively.

not sure what happened at last run in q3 Charles was sliding all over.. but yea another good effort.. maxbull was pretty rapid, as for as qualifying goes it was the most competitive this season so far.. well done to the team..

Kimi and Max both generally have bad starts, so this is a bit different from the sprint since the McLaren’s gearing choices help them off the line. I think if Charles is running 2nd or better then we have a chance - it seems overtaking is pretty tricky at this track with the new reg changes, so track position is everything.
