I've heard that the new upgrades have caused some issues with the rear. Not sure if the sources are reliable though.
What I don't understand is that the Canada upgrade brought them pretty close to Red Bull and did seem like a step forward. Not much has been added to the car since and they've gone backwards massively since then compared to Red Bull. I understand some of deficit will be track specific but why are the SO far off in Hungary a few races later, a track that should suit them. It just doesn't seem to stack up.
Canada has very few corners which are typical of the rest of the calendar. In many respects, its an outlier circuit which suits AM more than any other team. Verstappen had a bird stuck in his car for virtually the whole race. AM still didn't really challenge them.
We were stuck behind Hammie.
Alonso was running in second place for 2/3 of the race having passed Hamilton around lap 22. #-o

So you're saying that within 3 races they've been out developed by every team and the gap from Red Bull has grown from ~9 seconds post race to well over 1 minute? So Red Bull has out developed them massively without bringing any significant upgrades? The decline is very strange to me.
It all started with a raft of upgrades teams started to bring starting with the large one from Merc and followed by a huge one from McLaren.
That explains why they have fallen down the pecking order but it doesn't explain their massive relative drop off compared to Red Bull.

It does seem the car struggles in long corners though so hopefully they get on top of that with the new upgrades that are coming to the Dutch GP

They thought they were having a fuel problem in Canada. Start fuel saving after they passed Hamilton.

Krack says they will bring a new low downforce rear wing and a modified floor for Spa. Not sure whether the floor is part of the supposed summer break package and it was brought forward or not, because it was said they would only bring a rear wing for this race.

He says it took them a couple of weeks to identify what the issues were and to confirm them. Hopefully that means they know where to go now, if so that's great news.

Also I hope they dont get scared for having made a mistake and then dont give free rein to their imagination later.

I've taken all race laps of Alonso versus the winning Reb Bull. I've removed the obviuosly anomalies - first laps, saftey car, VSC, pit stop in/out laps. This is what I got:

Race % Diff

Bahrain 0.83%
Australia 0.14%
Saudi Arabia 0.69%
Baku 0.47%
Miami 0.68%
Monaco 0.54%
Spain 1.20%
Canada 0.03%
Austria 0.73%
Silverstone 1.21%
Hungary 1.19%

Can see that gap is very similar in Spain compared to Silverstone and Hungary. Think this underlines that their problem is longer corners and tracks with a range of corner speeds. Seems they have gone backwards relative to RB in the last couple of races though, indicating they have maybe gone in the wrong development direction which backs up what Krack has said today.

Kind of vague with regards to mistakes ...could be anything from the Canada upgrades to wrong front/rear wing, brake winglets or beam wing.

Imo, it's without doubt the Canada upgrades.

Two unreliable rumours that I have no idea where they come from say: Canada sidepods create unintended effect on the rear, and AM are unhappy with the front wing in general.

This would also suggest something related to the sidepod:

“It’s very complex,” he explained. “You change one thing but you never change one thing and everything else is fine.

“You always have side effects when you do changes and you need to weigh what you use.

“For example, a part makes more downforce but has a different character or vice versa and we think that in one or two situations we have done not the right choice.”
