Vettel offered a 12M 1 year deal, far too generous an offer with his horrible driving since 2014
12.1 is a fair deal from Ferrari, considering Vettel is risking being beaten a second year in a row by a whippersnapper albeit the whippersnapper that Ferrari has put their trust behind. A lot of positioning in the sport, Ferrari doubly so.

It is far too generous a deal considering that he can't stop crashing into his teammate, and everyone else.

agree, Singapore 2017 and multiple repeats of that same mindsetting are not tolerable anymore.
and RIC deserves this seat.
Finishing races is important, but racing is more important.

and be in the same situation as he would have been when he would stayed at RB?
no way....

Ferrari is building a team around Leclerc and all they need is a good 2nd driver that helps Leclerc to cover him in strategy and taking points from the opponents.

so RIC to Ferrari?... possible, but only with 5-10 % likelyhood

i think Giovinazzi will lose his spot or Kimi stops in 2021 and Mick Schumacher might jumpt in the Alfa Romeo and then for 2022 he might go to Ferrari

You all are the same ones betting for Vettel with enthusiasm to replace Alonso. Please think about

Vettel’s seat is pretty safe. Philip Morris is pretty conservative when it comes to driver choices. They want by all times a (former) world champion. As long as Alonso doesn’t make a surprise visit to Lausanne, their only option is Seb.

This video is of course about the road car division, but i assume the same thing applies to the F1 side.

According to AMuS (Gruener tweet), it seems that Vettel and Ferrari will part ways at the end of the year. Apparently today it will be official(midnight just passed :D)

I think it is pretty much official now. Ferrari is a champion disposal; Kimi, Alonso now Vettel (I know Kimi won there but still...)

Don't forget Schumacher! He didn't exactly leave of his own choosing.

In addition, Vettel certainly does not want to play the construction assistant at this point in his career.
The father of three had recently indicated in a video conference that a change of team was no longer up for discussion. So fans have to reconcile with the idea that the Formula 1 circus will make its rounds without Vettel from 2021.
