The best thing they could do. I thought they should have done that a bit earlier. Everybody with a bit of knowledge how such systems are being developed knows that such glitches do occur. It was the right decision to introduce the new ECU this year so it will not bring additional problems when the turbo engines are introduced next year. So Red Bull and McLaren need to get on with the work and focus on the next race.
Formula One's fundamental ethos is about success coming to those with the most ingenious engineering and best .............................. organization, not to those with the biggest budget. (Dave Richards)

More KERs problems.

Brundle suggested it could be a packaging problem in the Red Bull of Mark, because he is taller, and needs a bit extra leg room they have to be tighter on the packaging.

I don't know enough about F1 car structure to know if that would be an issue?

Some pictures of the KERs packaging I found on the internet, two different designs.

Martin Brundle suggested in qualifying that it may be because of Webber's height, forcing his car to be packaged slightly differently from Vettel's car. That makes sense. Lets be honest here as well, the team is always going to spent the most amount of time preparing Vettel's car first, it will always be the priority over Webber's.

RB packaging puts KERS electronics below the lh radiatorducting -but where are the batteries? They originally had placed them on both sides of the Bellhousing ..but isn´t it mandatory now to put them into the safety cell? that could be an issue for tall Webber..

It does make sense to me but I don't know how red bull package their car, and if that differential packaging would affect kers. I don't buy into the conspiracy theories regarding sabotage etc.

I think they did have to change something about kers because of the fire on the williams at spain last year. If it is in the safety cell I understand why that might affect webber. But then why doesn't it affect other taller drivers like button? And what could be happening to the kers that could be making it fail in a tightly packaged space.

Not every KERS solution is the same. As to what would affect it if more tightly packaged - overheating most likely. Vettel has had numerous KERS failures over the past few years as well, just less publicised.
