With the success and media exposure RBR has given to Renault over the years, I doubt there is any need to RBR to have any french exposure really. If thats important, then Renault will be their title sponsor instead of Nissan.WilliamsF1 wrote:JEV has a good chance of a RB seat considering the french connection.
Vettel is controlling the driver market at the moment and it will always be to his advantage if he can continue to do so for as long as possible.raymondu999 wrote:I find it's very odd. When was the last time we saw a single year extension, 2 years before the year? It's like "I'll commit to you for a longer time, but only for a year." Is he making himself available in 2016?
I'm not sure about that - Alonso has one of the most lucrative contracts in all of sports, I suspect Ferrari have most if not all of the options and leverage. Also, I doubt Alonso is going to opt out of that contract regardless, or leave Ferrari, even if they fail to produce competitive cars. Doesnt make sense to me.banibhusan wrote:I guess Alonso's contract runs till the end of 2016. May be that's the reason Vettel has extended it only for a year as of now. FYI, its just a wild wild speculation.
OR, it might be a repeat of another Kimi-Ferrari legacy wherein this time Alonso will be ousted out early making way for Vettel in 2016. Btw, when does the Santendar-Ferrari agreement ends?
