As far as I know they have been for a while, might be Castrol could be BP's way into F1

Last year Jordan used Elf fuel and engine lubricant as requested by Cosworth. The gearbox lubricant was Liquimoly.Irvingthien wrote:Interesting to hear that Petrobas will supplyfuel to Jordan, over these years, I never knew what fuel were they running on. Does anyone knows what fuel is Joedan using in 2003?
Castrol is HEAVILY involved to this day in sponsoring motorsports in the US...John Force in NHRA, some NASCAR stuff. I don't follow those sports, but I see enough of them for it to stick in my mind...which says to me, they MUST be doing quite a bit.Monstrobolaxa wrote: I still think it's strange Castrol is in F1....in 2001 (I think) when BP bought Catrol...Castrol was supossed to leave Formula 1, because BP has a policy that they don't sponsor motor racing. The story came in F1 Racing....but....probably they changed the policy....cause Castrol is still in F1....
WEBBER TO WILLIAMS
Although they are about to announce the partnership renew with Jordan as you said, one of the mechanics reported that they will be supplied by Elf fuel and Lubricant in 2004. As per his words Jordan is very disapointed with the speed of the negotiations with the Brazilian Lube people. So they decided for the Germany money (liqui-moly)Anonymous wrote:Jordan is about to renew with Liqui-Moly for lubricant supply in 2004.
It will be released soon...
Interestingly in Malaysia, Petronas & Shell share the same fuel storage depots from which the two oil companies would distribute fuel for sale at their respective gas stations in the country. They share the same hydrocarbon base fuel; the difference is in the additives.Monstrobolaxa wrote:Just got the e-mail back from Sauber explaining the fuel and oil situation here is the copy of the e-mail.
So here is the confirmation that Sauber in facct uses Petronas fuel and Oil....Dear Mr. Correia,
The Sauber-Petronas team is using both PETRONAS fuel and engine lubricant.
However, both the PETRONAS fuel and lubricant have to be approved by
Ferrari,
and therefore undergo the same Ferrari approval process as the Shell
products
have to undergo on the Ferrari engine.
I hope this answer is satisfying.
