Watch the second crash on this vid. I knew a guy who managed that on a runway, managed to get into a fishtail and suddenly the car flips. Just shows the kind of forces involved when a car is travelling.

Also why in joseff's video did the blurb say they were in a BMW (and it was certainly rwd) yet the car had Rover seat mats? I recognise them from my Metro days.

Not entirely fair, Nick was taking on the whole track, not just the public highway part.

He was also on "Demo" Tyres, he also had to slow down for points for people to take photos. All in all it was just a demo, not really an attempt to break a record.

One would suspect if Peter Sauber was in charge of the show, he'd let Nick have a go.

... or put Sabine Schmitz in the car!

Once again it needs to be restated that he drove the GP course as well as the Norschliefe, I don't know whether or not he drove the short version of the GP course or the full one but either way that adds at least a minute to the time.

Also from watching the video I think it was a damned good effort - he only had 3 laps to learn the most demanding track in the world, yet even through some of the tougher sections he was hardly touring round.

I'm impressed with his balls regardless!!

Agreed dude..but 8:30 is a heck lot of a time for an F1 racer  ..its a week! even the Z06 V8 cud lap Nordschleife in 7min 52sec...even if he had 3 laps to take it on
