Honda exceed 960hp

All that has to do with the power train, gearbox, clutch, fuels and lubricants, etc. Generally the mechanical side of Formula One.

That was an attempt at humour right ? Because I thought that Dr Theissen showing to every human being in the Monza’s paddock the telemetry plot to demonstrate that “the P82 touched 19050 rpm several times during the qualifying lap” was a good definition of “brag about it”... :D
Well said Reca =D>

 Well actually I wasn't trying to be humorous..... Cause going through magazines from back then you really don't see as much publicity from BMW engineers as you've been seeing from Honda during this year....

After looking back and reviewing numerous F1 publications over the year 2000-2004, I can confidently say that Renault and BMW have been far more vocal about the engine program than have HONDA

Well how come you never hear about the power output of BMW anymore? They used to brag about 19K rpm and well over 900 hp but all I've heard this year is that the engine is heavy and Honda and Toyota make more power.
Bring back wider rear wings, V10s, and tobacco advertisements

In addition they are now testing a gear box that does not lose any revs on up shifts
Am I the only one feeling that there’s something a tiny bit odd in that sentence ?
gp2004

BAR did a solid job at Suzuka, however they were a little disappointed that they couldn’t challenge Ferrari on Hondas home ground. Honda had their latest spec engine in the 006 in Suzuka, which produced 960 hp. The new gearbox that was to allow the drivers to upshift with rev drop was not used despite 1500 successful test kilometres both at Jerez and Silverstone. One problem was, that BAR did not want to put it in Buttons car because they won’t know until tomorrow if the Englishman will drive the next year’s BAR. Therefore, they didn’t want to give away their secrets as they are fully aware that Williams and BMW are working on a similar system, which is due to race next year.[/img]

It’s interesting that in the latest article they made a mistake during the translation from French exactly in the most important part...
Anyway :
9.3 Gear ratios :
9.3.1 The minimum number of forward gear ratios is 4 and the maximum is 7.
9.3.2 Continuously variable transmission systems are not permitted.

the most amusing thing is:

after qualifying, BMW was bragging abt their engines which 1st past the 19krpm mark. Come raceday, both their engines expired!
