That Paul Ricard rear wing is going to be magic around here! Both Silverstone and Hungary, were important lessons from a setup perspective.

I'm excited, I know the RB16B is going to dance around the downhill, and with Honda nailing the energy management, there's definitely the chance to even up the championship.

The only AMuS report I’ve seen is that they still have a few small parts for the second half of the season:

Only Red Bull has announced that it will introduce a few new parts for the RB16B during the second half in order to bring down Mercedes in the fight for the title. It would be stupid. It's better to build up a points gap, just as before Silverstone, and then take the engine penalty.

A penalty will hurt one way or the other. The smartest thing might be to postpone it to when they really need it, in case there will be a freaky qualifying somewhere (rain, spin or other reliability issue), so they can take it while already have to start from the back of the field.

Honda checked in Sakura whether the Silverstone PU could still be repaired. According to Helmut Marko in Der Kronen Zeitung it can't.
If I understand correctly, he also doesn't want to take the penalty here in Spa with a new PU.

Youd think taking it this weekend with the chance of rain is the best time. Max is likely to be the fastest guy on the track bar Lewis, and could easily make his way up to P3/P2 given the right circumstances. Harder to do at other tracks or dry weekends.

Yes but there is the risk this PU can also be damaged from a crash in the rain as well.
It seems this year the drivers are taking more risks because the cars are so much closer in performance resulting in greater opportunity to get more points.

If they have to take an extra engine, doing so at a high throttle % track would be the sensible option, wouldn't it? Somewhere like Monza, for example. Also somewhere where a fresh PU will give good benefit on the long straights.

They can take a new engine and put in pool but if weather is not good, then qualify and race an older PU right?

They obviously know how much they can take out of it by going to the extreme, and as long as it does not actually destruct it may be an ace in the hole if a change catches everyone and others are not intending to kill the engine.

All the teams push their engines as hard as they dare. Neither Merc or RedBull can afford a break down in a race, so I don't see how they can push an engine any harder than they usually would.
