Norris can get pole. I am saying this after analyzing data from FP3.
Note : "can" , not "will/should".

Is pole calculated before or after the penalty?

I'm hesitant to get excited because McLaren this year tends to look better in practice.

You meant finish the session quickest
He can’t get pole with a 10 place grid drop

WHAT A LAP LANDO. Oscar still nowhere near. Hoping he has a good second stim. I can't imagine the red flag is going to be good for the second stim times if it's long enough.

Its a pity as lady luck is screwing with Mclaren. The car seems to be fast enough for pole but then Lando has a 10 place grid penalty.

Do they drive the same car or has NOR a upgraded engine or a different rear wing?

Same car, if I'm not mistaken both got the new battery spec but Lando had to serve the penalty.

Piastri went wide before the straight, that loses you a lot of time.

Merc or at least Antonelli are still ahead. Thinking positively, three tenths in Spa is a pretty good result considering the distance with Mercedes. Probably would have been P2 w/o Hadjar tow.

Norris probably would be closer if he nailed the last lap. Pretty encouraging before the new package.

Was he improving? Not sure if it would have made much difference in terms of classification.

Not bad, close to the top but we still suffer in high speed sectors. My guess is drag is playing a significant issue that will probably the one of the main objectives of the next package.

How do fans of Mclaren feel about this year so far. Is there dissapointment that we arent on top anymore or are you relaxed due to Mclaren having taken back to back titles and expecting a return to top form later this year or next year? I'm curious to hear what you think.

In the meantime the car seems to be able to be front row. Norris proves it. Piastri has to perform the same.
Completely relaxed.

They appear to be validating parts well now and open that their initial direction required some change.

This weekends low downforce rear wing certainly appears to have done its job and given lap time and relative performance to the competition, they’re in a good position if indeed the Hungary package delivers what is expected.

Very optimistic for next season and I would be surprised if we didn’t win races later on this season.

Lando performed like a champion today. A worthy third that he has goten on his own (which is 13th due to the penalty) against the rocketship of Mercedes and a driver that as I said in the past has two teams and 3 extra garages working for him. Good job to Mclaren.

Oscar has to sit down and find out what's wrong cause this year he seems deflated.
