Seriously ?
What in God's name is dangerous using these tactics at 60mph ?
It's just silly bemothering ...
It impedes the line of the lead car.
It's unfair. It's unsafe. The guy who was ten seconds behind now can create a disadvantage of the lead car even before the race restarts. Goes against the intention of a race restart.
Well, then just don't do it at all and have standing starts only ? I mean, what is the gain compared to a standing start ?
I just don't buy into the unsafe part .. it's silly and a cheap ass reason.
Erratic movement in a safety car scenario is hazardous. See Mugello. The SC restart is a release to start racing. Jostling to cut off other driver's line before the restart is asking for a 20 car accident if something goes wrong.

RBR: 2 hard, 1 medium tyres left
Ferrari: 1 hard, 2 medium tyres left

This will make it pretty interesting I suppose.

Everyone is expecting it to be a 1 stop race… So Medium - Hard for the majority of the grid… Maybe someone like Sainz going Hard - Medium… But, it isn’t necessarily an advantage one or the other… Depending on the timing of potential safety cars, Ferrari could have an advantage with brand new mediums, but with a normal race, it shouldn’t matter much

It does allows them to go very long in the first stint… If they can have a comparable pace, it provides an advantage in the second half of the race, been on a faster tire with less fuel… It just depends on how strong the first stint can be

First lap is alway difficult on the slower tire… But the reality is that Alonso in P10 for example is in a great position… It’s a gamble, but it can pay off big time

Mediums and hards lives looked similar. It is just harder to warm them up, causing a struggle in the packed order in the first laps.

Just wanna say that removing DRS from the back straight was indeed a great idea. We would have seen cars smashing in the back of the cars in front there.

Why Russell wasn't using DRS to pass Hamilton when he was able to?
