Need Leclerc back to 100% in second half because the first half felt like 80% or worse
All the technical issues and failures, poor tactical and strategic decisions can't be compensated by the driver...

The engine gap isn't big for overall laptime in quali because it seems to manage harvesting and deployment better than the RBPT while being more drivable but it is evident in races on power circuits where they struggle to pass or defend against the RBPT and Mercedes engine which always seem to have more on the straights.
It has been hinted at that Ferrari have more drag and that the exhaust blowing solution cost hp. Certain aspects of the car are creating an illusion. If Ferrari had the gap that people think they do, they would never have been competitive in Silverstone and Spa. They didn't dominate Monaco or Hungary. Maybe there is something to conclude from this.
Yes, the engine is nowhere near 6% behind or whatever was claimed once you remove all the trickery from the equation. Small turbo, exhaust back pressure etc. Their combustion efficiency is good.

Well if that was true, how they got ADUO2 ?

I think the ICE landscape is like this..
Mercedes / Redbull 625 to 630 hp
Ferrari 615hp
Audi 610hp but poor deployment
Honda 580 hp ( detuned for reliability)

Because ADUO doesn’t account for the trickery, it just measures peak power.

That doesn't make sense. They are down in peak power but they use some trickery that helps them where? Care to elaborate?

Makes perfect sense. A smaller turbo can spool faster and thus keeps your power more consistent albeit lower at the peak, it also helps with drivability. Exhaust back pressure through the exhaust wing takes away power in exchange for downforce at the rear. Neither one is an indication of inefficient combustion, it’s just a trade-off how you make your time.

Power under the curve. Shape of the curve. Torque stability. Throttle response. Reliability. All of these things.

And then you have the interaction from ICE to ES and the the gearbox.

I just wanted an explanation for the word "trikery" which hears bad in my ears, like they do something outside of the rules. I know what they had done as matter the small wing in exhaust and also the smaller turbo where FIA rushed to nerf them after instructions from "somewhere".
Of course they banned the small wing also from next year..... All the rest teams, especially MB, they do innovations, Ferrari is the trikery team, right.

Yeah, the word “trickery” is nonsense. Someone needs to explain what that means.

If their smaller turbo and FTM wing are costing them outright peak power in order to gain drivability, that’s not trickery, that’s an engineering choice with pros/cons.

They are banning small winglets on top of the wing as well. No need to invent narratives for Ferrari. Such unintended stuff always go away, such as DAS.

Did Ferrari choose to nerf their engine a bit by running the exhaust wing? Sure but the ADUO tests do account for that so the engine was definitely ~4% behind. If the RBPT is ~575hp and the Mercedes ~565hp then they were prob ~550hp before the ~10hp ADUO upgrade they already brought. They have another upgrade for Monza so they'll prob be on par with the best engines by then. Its not a big concern - everyone knows they were late to finalizing their 26 engine and behind RBPT and Mercedes when it came to testing. It won't be an issue by 27 at the latest.
