I find it amusing that you treat others' ideas with derision but things you've supported in this thread is exactly the FIA has done this weekend. And it's resulted in this --- in both qualifying and now the race. So forgive me for not taking you seriously in this matterdialtone wrote: ↑02 Jul 2023, 20:54I find it funny that people here believe that nobody ever thought of that already .organic wrote:I don't think moto would have a problem with that ideavorticism wrote: ↑02 Jul 2023, 20:502 m strip of grass then asphalt does seem like an ideal solution as AR3-GP keeps bringing up. You get the immediate punishment and then get to catch it and slow down on the asphalt run off (more so than gravel, at least). What's the catch though? MotoGP couldn't use it?
In all likelihood they have a set of known corner edges that could be implemented and discussed them all and couldn't find a compromise that worked and not enough pressure to do it.
Maybe this changes now.
I'm sure they've evaluated these options before.. it's just that they were wrong to dismiss them. The RBR is primarily an F1 circuit and if the race results take hours post-race to decide at this circuit and qualifying has drivers kicked out early for supposed infringements that are later reversed.. it doesn't work as an F1 circuit!
