I'm usually not a betting person, but if it is possible I'm going to bet my life savings (which isn't much) that this concrete won't hold when these vacuum cleaners hit the track.
Seriously...there is ~2cm concrete over a metal drain cover? They did not remove the drain cover but just smeared the top with concrete??? Looks like a standard solution from India or Pakistan...but I highly doubt that this holds anything.
I hope this picture is not what I read into it.
Could anyone explain what the difference is between having a sculpted (rounded) end portion to wing compared to a more angular end section. I see that RB/Merc/FER now have an angular design whereas the MCL wing is totally rounded off
Well the other Ferrari PU teams aren't exactly up there, so I dont think this is any great excuse for anything. I doubt PU differences are really making a huge difference to the competitive order at this point. None of them are so undeniably inferior that it's hampering their results.
yep I’d say they’ve completely filled the drains, hopefully it works as intendedchrisc90 wrote: ↑28 Feb 2024, 12:21basti313 wrote: ↑28 Feb 2024, 10:45

Wet enough mix will go down through the cover I’d imagine.
Seems like a lot of rear wing on that Williams and Alpine, for a circuit that requires a bit of a compromise aero-wise. I guess when you expect to be in the middle-pack on a circuit with 3 DRS zones you can get away with having that much more wing.
The PU's are pretty much equal (except Renault) Drag, engine mode etc's explain the differences

Ferrari openly said this "medium" wing is designed for more downforce than the one that occupied a similar spot in the range last year.
It will also produce a bit more drag, but they added that they focussed on improving DRS efficiency too.
This added downforce no doubt it's part of the effort to improve the cars consistency on long runs and different types of tires.
Mclaren seems to have gone the opposite route, since they were quite draggy last year, they shed a bit with this new wing.

Is he being conservative about his own chances?
