Didn’t they say this track layout was better for them? :?
Alonso made mistake went off the track or something in turn 12. Also in turn 5 lost 2 tenths because Magnussen made mistake and he was very close to the Haas.
Both Qualy and race pace simulation have shown Aston as slowest team after the 3 practice sessions so even without the mistakes there was nothing to do.

Just painful to see him trying everything to extract every fraction of a second out of the car.
Alonso could go easily in Q2...

There must be further changes in the team structure. Firing Fallows is not enough at this point...

Yeah, they should probably hire a new TD. Hopefully someone decent with good ideas. And maybe another engineer to work with him who has helped create some race winning cars recently. 🙃

I’m sure Briatore is joking with Alonso about a return to Alpine
Newey, Cardile and a state of the art wind tunnel are all coming in the next few months. Even Briatore isn't gonna convince Alonso to leave Aston Martin, lol.

I said “joking about” I did not say he will try to talk to Alonso

Tom McCullough is Aston Martin F1 team's performance director.... For him to say "“The performance of the team this year hasn’t been at the level that we’ve all been wanting it to be at" is insane.

Dan Fallows was not working alone on the AMR24
“We haven’t quite delivered there, and [dismissing Fallows has] been a decision made by the team.”

Team would be "Performance Director Tom McCullough, Deputy Technical Director Eric Blandin, Engineering Director Luca Furbatto and Executive Director – Technical, Bob Bell".
Exactly, that team failed to deliver.

It takes nothing to all their impressive CVs but as team they failed and only Fallows paid the consequences.

Its possible Fallows is not the last sacking. Formu1a.uno journo (who are usually reliable) said some time ago he is not the only big name who has left/will leave their role in the Aston Martin technical department

Why not make Fallows a Head of Aero like he was in Red Bull? I think that that's the place where he can do a good job. Looks like being a Technical Director was too much of a task for him.

Indeed.
The Aston 2026 package looks great, there is no guarantee but I don’t see more attractive team for 2026.

Red Bull with ford will fail.

That leaves Ferrari, McLaren and Aston the most attractive.
Obviously Mercedes also but the new rules are again a question mark for them
