All a bit silly.
Why talk about this at all ? Has the "press-officer" been drunk, before they send out the drivers on a thursday ? Why did Norris use the word 'repercussion' at all in Austin ?
Reinforces my notion that McLaren are a 'pure engineering' team ; race operation, team radio, man-management etc are amateurish. The rest of the team should count themselves lucky that their engineering/design teams are so talented.

Red Bull to stop trying to remove McLaren tape after talks - The Race https://share.google/OZrwXQ16aFINVBxDT

The team were enjoying the back and forth games leading up to "Tapegate"

Yet another silly blow up by the press and some fans #-o

It did seem to be a big fuss over very little.

I really think people want the drama for everything. Its why so much is being made by many on the unfairness to Oscar.

I've read people talk about how he should ignore the team or go rogue, when, there is nothing that stands out about him being that sort of person.

Everything needs to seemingly needs to become sonething.

It wasn't a big deal but it did show that Red Bull (or at least parts of it) would go to any length to gain an advantage. To me this is not a way you should be racing, but everyone has their own opinion.

I'm glad that it is now obvious this is not something Mekies accepts and it has been stopped.

Stella said that when the grip is low and the tyres slide more Piastri struggles more relative to Norris. Mexico will be another round with this occurring, no?

The repercussions lasted till T1 in COTA Sprint  :

Oscar Piastri reveals McLaren repercussions change after Austin calamity:
— Oscar Piastri confirmed that McLaren has decided to "remove" the repercussions initially placed on Lando Norris following the incident at the Circuit of the Americas. Speaking in the official FIA press conference at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, Piastri explained:

“Yeah, we've gone through it again. We go through every weekend, regardless of what's happened. I think there is a degree of responsibility from my side in the sprint. And we're starting this weekend with a clean slate for both of us.”

— Piastri was asked if Norris' consequences from Singapore had been lifted and if his aggressive move in Turn 1 during the sprint at COTA was the reason. He responded:

“Yes, the consequences on Lando's side have been removed. And yes, ultimately, it was that. There's a lot of factors involved, but ultimately, yes, that's what's been decided.”

Well that's how it goes. Piastri made a reckless move in the sprint that caused a double DNF for McLaren. It would be strange if Norris had repercussions for rubbing wheels after that.

They should just be hush about it.

Looks fake. You shouldn’t post this crap until confirmed.

If it was McLaren (or Redbull) rumours would allready be spreading the web. Probably Williams due to all the Calapinto crashes.

Supposedly who ever it is has disputed the claim, which in turn delays the process and increases the level of punishment if still found guilty, which always happens- can anyone give me an example where a punishment in F1 has been overturned?

FIA haven't published the results of the audits yet, so that is definitely fake news.

The team were hush, werent they,? Wasnt it Lando that talked about it and then the team were asked after Lando casually dropped it.
