Does his penalty points become 0 or do they stay the same till the naturally run out 1 by 1 after 12 months of the points being collected?

Well, the obvious choice would be Bearman. Might as well give him a practice weekend before 2025. The best "jump into a seat and score some points" driver is already driving for Haas. :wink:

Full FIA Document explains points will go back to zero.

"Decision: The Super Licence of the driver of Car 20 is suspended for the next Competition of the 2024 FIA Formula One World Championship.

Following this suspension, 12 penalty points will be removed."

It is clear that the slate is wiped clean, but I think there is a case for just suspending them and taken into account if the driver has not "learned a lesson" or they can go bowling for the rest of the year and no punishment.

Edit, but the rules are the rules and can not be changed mid season (usually)
When arguing with a fool, be sure the other person is not doing the same thing.

There's no reason why Bearman shouldn't just continue for the rest of the season.

same tires, but Hülkenberg's DRS was not working
