Forza Motorsport 4

Post

To all those with an Xbox 360, I will be sinking £40 dollars into Xbox live and a further hard earned £40 into buying what look like a racers delight in FM4.

The review for the game is here: http://uk.xbox360.ign.com/articles/119/1198556p2.html

Suffice to say IGN do not hand out scores of 9+ every week, especially for racing games and this got 9.5!

So if anyone fancies a race, add me on Xbox gamertag: SpankDatYank80

I've also preordered it, and looking very much forward to it.

Maybe we can organize some races, since it is always better that way than a random group.

That's a pretty poor review tbh. It's possible to spot that it's been written with the sole objective of shining sunlight out of the jewelcase's crack.

I'm expecting it to be pretty much a carbon copy of FM3, which was pretty much a carbon copy of FM2. That's probably not going to change very much until the next generation consoles come out.

I'd want to wait until some less embarassing reviews come out, but if what I thought is the case, then I would only get the game for multiplayer because nobody will be playing the older forza games.

----

What I'd really like to see is some competition in the simracer genre for the 360. IMO, there are a lot of holes in the overall feel of the Forza series, which probably aren't going to get worked on until there is something else on the market to take sales away...

All reviews I have seen thus far call it the racing game of this generation.

I had the same misgivings regards the physics of the game, but tinkering around with the assist options to get a more realistic feel changed the game entirely.
It's the only game I have played where you can get near simulation levels of feel and also an arcade style feel for a less demanding experience.
I will definatley be getting it for the update in cars and upgrade in graphics. Will post my feelings on the game once I have a few hours hands on experience.

Also, my xbox live connection appears to be dead :?
Will have a look later and update....

Has anyone played it yet?
I'm still on the fence currently because my x360 is currently dead, so I'd have to spend at least another $500 (console, game, wheel) just to play it. What's holding me back -and it might sound superficial- is the track selection. While my favorite Mugello is included, they didn't include Imola, Monza, Spa, and a host of other great classic tracks. Silverstone isn't updated to the new layout. It's going to take a lot of convincing or a nice price drop for me to get it.

Did you try to get your 360 fixed? They extended the warranty by a couple years for the RROD.
