Why is a cold weather package option a norm in the auto industry but a hot weather version isn't?
In the southwest of the US where it doesn't really get cold we could really use upgraded cooling systems for engine and transmission, cooled seats, window tint, etc, as factory options instead of having to get them as aftermarket parts.
Chances are that if you have a half ton truck with standard cooling and tow with it or idle in traffic for an extended amount of time (regardless of car), you might run into overheating problems sooner or later. Although I am aware of the fact that some trucks/cars have a transmission oil cooler option but it's not that popular as say an engine block heater, heated seats and steering wheel, headlight washers, etc.
It just bugs me that the industry caters to the colder climates but hardly considers the hot ones, AFAIK. Give me a Hot Weather Package!
