well they have now run the new car at Mugello
Michael Schumacher did 50 laps, Barrichello 90.

They however needed to stop the test because their new engine started to sound really strange and could have led to a breakdown.

Not really excellent of course (you have to consider Mugello is a short circuit). However both drivers were very pleased about the performance.
I guess they couldn't say anything else :)

I will just wait and see, I just hope they don't get as dominant as last year and that we finally may have another champion...

I think the tide might have turn but it will be much more exciting, I guess they won'tb dominate anymore and that they will fight untill the finish for the vicotry

They will probably struggle a little bit with tires the next race, but will probably be in top 3 by then.

I think in bahrain they may get into the podium if they are lucky . But i think for sure they will be fighting for the race. I dont think they will win this race but be sure for them to be very strong in the race after bahrain. Another thing that puzzles me is if im not mistaken somewhere midseason last year when ferrari wrapped up both the championship they stop development on their f2004 and was concentrating on the 2005 car. This gave them at least 3-4 months head start to the other teams in terms of development but why they couldnt produce the f2005 in Melbourne

the tide hasn't turned at all. some of the teams... ie: renault, toyota, red bull, mclaren and williams especially; have raised their game. make no mistake, the f2004 m is probably the fastest chassi on the grid. that being said, the tide has been turned on bridgestone. without tires it's not gonna happen for ferrari. let's hope bs gets it together so we have a compettive season, it would suck without the ferrari being in there. what a difference a rule makes.

possibly... but I think it sucks even more when they win everything and we have the same Ferrari champion over and over again :x

Probably you’re mixing Fiorano and Mugello.
Mugello is about 5.3 km long, when you read about the “short version”, it simply means that for the in lap the driver used a shortcut for the pits.
There’s a 1+ km long straight line but also fast and difficult corners, elevation changes etc... it’s quite demanding for driver and car and definitively better than most of the tracks used in F1; to be honest, if not for a certain obvious reason, Mugello would be by far my preferred choice for the Italian GP, it’s IMO the best track in Italy.
That obviously doesn’t guarantee that since the F2005 seems to be fast there it will be a champ winner, but if you don’t have time to test on many tracks, Mugello is a very good choice.

At the official site http://www.mugellocircuit.it/english you can see track map, pics of the corners and also download the video of a lap onboard a MotoGP bike. Once you’ve seen the video consider that a F1 requires 35 s. less...

Brawn explained in Malaysia that they had to design a brand new gearbox because the old one wasn’t optimal for the requirements of the new rules on the diffuser area (central tunnel lot more important now).

Agreed. Bespoke tyres have worked to the teams advantage over the last few years, but Michelin have been closing the gap year after year since they entered F1. Michelin rubber heats up quicker over a single lap and they also seem to be winning the longevity battle.
