Thanks Paul & Brian. The reason I ask is this: In the last stint in the Malaysian GP Fernando's rain light was on, whereas Perez's was off. There was talk that Fernando was on a rain map(because of the rain light) and that Perez was on a dry engine map. I think there is a independent switching step. You would not necessarily need a separate switch on the steering wheel.
In theory the type of tires that are being should indicate the map. although i am not sure how that is policed.

Yeah they don't have to be linked. As Brian said, they have a map according to the tyre they're on but that's it. I was shooting in the dark..alelanza wrote:I remember watching an old (3 years?) video linking the tyre type selection to the rain lights, but it didn't stipulate both HAD to be linked.
