Villeneuve Lets Vettel Have It...Big Time

Post

Jacques Villeneuve confirms what a few of us were already thinking.....
"For me, it has confirmed what I think about Vettel," Villeneuve told Autosprint of the race in Abu Dhabi. "These are facts: while recovering from the back, he first got in contact with Senna who was ahead of him and damaged his front wing.

"Then he lost control of his car and crashed under the safety car. A very serious error that had light consequences. As for the rest, he has shown to be super quick, but he was lucky and I'm not changing my mind: Alonso deserves the 2012 title more."

"I have no doubts: Fernando Alonso is the best, that's why I root for him," said the 1997 title winner.

"Seb is super quick, but there is a difference with Fernando that emerges in case of an unfavourable situation.

"Alonso remains calm, cool, and rational, while Vettel most of times gets upset, angry, screams and flicks the middle finger. He reacts like a child.

Why, it's news, Jaques is just giving his view right?

"lose control" is a bit of an exaggeration. From what I saw, he swerved to avoid a collision and hit a sign. It's not like he spun off across the track...

We're not very good at talking about drivers around here. That's especially true if the conversation is about Finger Boy or The Bawse. It seems some people just can't refrain from making subtle digs here and there, and eventually it all adds up to a snowball of shameful proportions. 8)

(It starts just like that.)

EDIT: Please don't take any of this as an admonition. I don't mean it that way at all.

It's all part of the fun.

Here's a dig: I think Jacques is right in alot of what he said, to be honest, this nonsense about ''whoever wins the title deserves it the most'' is complete and utter nonsense when one driver is in a car faster than the other one. Whenever people say that, I think of a simple question. Put Alonso in Vettel's Red Bull and Vettel in the Ferrari. Would the title go down to the penultimate race.......Answer: NO.

My opinion.

Jacques doesnt know what he's talking about, he's only an F1 World Champion, me however, i'm a world armchair racing champion, therefore my opinion > Jacques.

I can certainly see his points. He's however talking about a 1 off happening. Should it happen more often, than it''ll be obvious.
"There is a credit card with the Ferrari logo, issued by Santander, which gives the scuderia a % of purchases made with the card...

I would guess that such a serious amount of money would allow them to ignore the constant complains of a car that was nowhere near as bad as their #1 driver tried to sell throughout the season.

Heck, a car on which Massa finishes in the podium or has to lift so that his teammate finishes ahead (As we saw often in the final races of the year) is, by no means, a "bad" car."

Remember this when he was stuck in the pack and couldnt overtake anyone, he was screaming down the radio at Roque.

"DOOOOOO SOMETHING......JUST DOOOOOO SOMETHING!!!!!!!"

Alonso uses that same team radio to ask his team to let him pass his teammate, while they use it to make sure his teammate doesn't pass him :P

No, the more I think about it, the more I see this as a one off thing. He certainly made those mistakes in Abu Dhabi but it's not something we've seen much more than once.

I would have never thought that a race where a driver starts in pitlane and finishes on the podium would be used against him. Regardless of the amount of luck involved. Or the mistakes that were made. The fact that a driver started from pitlane and finished on podium, I always thought that was respectable. I could never imagine people would use it against the driver.

The funny/sad thing is, despite Villeneuve being the prime example of a driver who only showed something in a fast car and couldn't do --- in a slow car, Vettel gets more slack than Villeneuve ever has...

As for letting Vettel have it. If you name Alonso as an example of calm and cool, to show how Vettel throws a fit, you don't know what you're talking about.

Jack should just shut up. He has done a lot of stupid thinks during his career. When there was a car crashing out in last lap, who was it?
Of course Jack, you need to have a special talent to do things like that.
He really is not in the position to complain about a driver who is going to be WC 3 times in a row and really has not done any significant mistake in his career so far.
