If you want oval type of racing with long straights and high banking, I would much rather see something like the old Monza banking integrated back into the track.
Oval tracks are only interesting due to the paint-swapping (I won't say crashes, because that just cheapens the sport) that occurs since all of the cars are kept close together with the slip-streaming. Combining that with a massive field (something like 50 cars on the grid in NASCAR), ovals are just on the edge of a derby rather than the pinnacle F1 aims to be.
The only condition that I would accept an "oval" in F1 is the Monza banking integrated back as mentioned above, is a WELL thought out in-field track at the Brickyard.
Here is the current version (for Moto GP, I believe)
In this case, I wouldn't mind seeing the long straight integrated with the 1/4 turn either at the start of the straight (so we can see some long-radius wheel to wheel racing). Otherwise, more sweeping bits would be better. Something like what I drew in red (please forgive the poor quality of the picture and of the track, I ain't no Tilke!)
