2011
Was McLaren the only one to use hot blowing? It gave them an enormous boost of downforce, more than 2.5 seconds, but at the expense of much more fuel loaded into the car, less horsepower and less operativity on the setup;
(much more fuel) remember the Korean race when the McLarens dropped positions on the first lap after marvellous qualifying; i suspect there the technology of hot blowing was at his maximum
(less horsepower) and the Italian gp where the McLaren seemed much less competitive than Red Bulls (!!) this because they could not drop off hot blowing
(less operativity on setup) and when they were banned off throttle in Silverstone, they lost immediately 2 seconds, compared to 1 second of Red Bull and 0,5 seconds of Ferrari
Mercedes on the meanwhile were competitive on the start of the race, so I suspect they used cold blowing; very bad car on low fuel ...
Or maybe they were on hot blowing? Remember the W02 with periscope exhaust was slow as green Lotus, so maybe it gave 2,5 seconds to the dog ...
Force India?
MP4-25 used cold blowing in the final phases of the championship?
Why MP4-26 could not run with floor over the exhaust (as RB7 and F150) ? I think it could have been a boost of (basic!) downforce. Was it SO hot?
