They were the last team that I know of to use H-pattern gearboxes. The end of an era ended with him and his team. RIP

When you compare them to that horrendous MasterCard Lola's they were actually a fine effort.

Thx for the pics guys. It's amazing to see how simplistic the F1 cars of that era were. Also, striking to see all those blue chip sponsors brought by Brazilian Diniz ( Parmalat, Marlboro, Gillette, Arisco, STP). In the second year when Diniz switched to
Ligier the financial situation was far different at Forti.

They were impressively slow F1 cars but you have to give Mr Forti the credit for getting it done!

RIP.

I used to love the battle at the rear of the field with these guys, Minardi, Simtek, Pacific. Its a shame F1 coverage of the time wasnt as good as it is today, as these guys were hardly seen on tv. Atleast today there is multiple camera's to watch from and endless highlights and re-runs.

The joke was that they were called Forty because there appeared to be forty of them as they got lapped.

I know a couple of guys who worked for his F1 effort in the 90s and I saw his slow bright yellow-green-blue cars racing back in 1995. Maybe the last true privateer F1 effort, there is a fine F1 team history written in F1rejects:

I drove an FG03 at Rockingham as part of an F1 experience day.

Even limited to a single gear it was still good fun.

Spinning it wasn't however, got a right rollocking for that
