Sutil vs Di Resta, round 2

Post

With Sutil reentering the fray at Force India, we'll see him re-paired with Di Resta. The last time they were teammates in 2011;
- Sutil scored 42 points to Di Resta's 27
- Both had a best finish of P6 - Sutil in Nurburgring and Brazil, Di Resta in Singapore
- Sutil had 9 points finishes to Di Resta's 8
- The qualifying battle stands at 10-9, with Sutil edging Di Resta out by one
- in the 16 races where both finished the race, Sutil finished ahead 10 times, Di Resta 6 times
- in the 1041 laps where they both completed, Sutil finished 562 of them ahead (Di Resta, 479)

So now with Sutil having had a non-racing year, and Di Resta now with 2 year's worth of experience, how do you think they'll fare?

The expectation is surely on Di Resta to beat him now if he is to live up to his pre-2011 billing as an upper tier driver. Missing a season of F1 didn't seem to harm Hulkenburg (although he did the practise sessions I guess, and is a different driver) so that shouldn't be a major issue for Sutil. What could play into Di Resta's favour is his experience on the 2012 Pirellis, but how much of that experience is transferable to this season isn't clear either.

I'll go with Sutil - he's a very good driver and handily beat Di Resta in 2011, and Hulkenburg did the same after a slowish start last season.

Sutil will stomp him, unless di resta puts out some sort of a miracle. This is a make or break season for him.

Hulkenburg proved last year he is an upper tier driver, he has looked it ever since his Brazil 2010 pole, he has something special and I seriously consider him one of the best on the grid. I don't think DiResta is as good as he was billed, I think he and Sutil are an even match.

Agreed, Hulkenburg is showing himself to have the right stuff to be a future WDC IMO.
