Golden Seasons/era

Post

An odd thread but I'm just simply asking what era or season stood out as one of the most talent packed, also for an element of what if you can include drivers who where/are retired or racing elsewhere or whatever for that particular season.

I've only existed since 1993 so here's a very recent season of 2007 with JPM, Villeneuve and the Red Baron staying for one more season.

Here's the possible line up.

1 Micheal Schumacher
2 Juan Pablo Montoya
3 Fernando Alonso
4 Lewis Hamilton
5 Felipe Massa
6 Kimi Raikkonen
7 Heikki Kovalainen
8 Giancarlo Fisichella
9 Jenson Button
10 Rubens Barrichello
11 Nick Heidfeld
12 Robert Kubica
13 Sebastian Vettel
14 Mark Webber
15 David Coulthard
16 Jarno Trulli
17 Ralf Schumacher
18 Nico Rosberg
19 Alexander Wurz
20 Jacques Villeneuve
21 Takuma Sato
22 Adrian Sutil

1993 may not have had the depth up and down the grid of say 2012, but it did have

Senna
Prost
Schumi

Maybe the 3 best drivers of my lifetime so far (I am 26) So I would go with 1993.

2012 you had

Lewis
Alonso
Kimi
Vettel
Schumi
Button

So that year is not far back.

1999 after Schumi got injured was the weakest grid, 1995 and 2002 were quite weak also.
