Technical book for beginners

Post

Hello guys

I´m new in this forum and i want to understand f1 from a tecnical point of view.

Can you tell me witch books you recomend for someone who doesn´t have much knowledge about f1 cars?

Recently i "bought" to books, the science of f1 design and the latest Giorgio Piola book.
The Giorgio Piola ´s book desapointed me a litte bit and the other one is interesting but it covers many aspects os f1 cars from 10 years ago.

Can you give some feedback about good F1 books for beginners?I am currently studying engineering but in computer area an telecomunications, nothing relationated with cars.

I haven't seen any recent books on F1 tech, so if you want a book which covers all the recent advances (like inerters, KERS etc) you have to be patient. However I would greatly recommend Peter Wright's "Formula 1 Technology" from 2001, you can purchase it thru SAE as an e-book. It gives you all needed background (if you learnt some physics) for understanding the technical side of the sport. Also look for "Physics of Racing" by Brian Beckman which is available for free on the web.
