Ayrton Senna's 1987 Team Lotus Agreement

Post

I was perusing the internet and stumbled across this bit of cool information.

1987 Team Lotus Agreement - http://legacy.library.ucsf.edu/tid/sdm14j00/pdf

One of the things that stood out to me looking through it was Senna's continuity with the team was directly linked to Gerard Ducarouge. I wonder what might've been had Ducarouge had the budget of McLaren at the time to design the 99T.

Typical legal document.....but an interesting read. I'd like to see Schumacher's and Rubens Ferrari contracts.

Or that of Eddie Irvine.

How was the "Bad Brake" clause worded? Or was it just a simple "If you are in front of Schummy, you are obliged to let him pass" type of clause..................

haha the time of typewriters ....
It seems Ayrton was famous for his elaborate contract negotiations and got his equal in ron Dennis at Mclaren only.whitmarsh was quoted that a std McLaren driver contract is around 11 pages -a contract Kovalainen did sign .Buttons for comparison was up to 17 ,Sennas 29 but ,hold your breath Hamilton beat them all with 35 or something..

I can't even imagine what Hamilton could have possibly required be put into his McLaren contract?

I'd love to see the entire thing just to see if there was some sort of ridiculous garbage in there that served no point.

Actually just getting ahold of all driver contracts would be fun to do to see what kind of weird stuff is hidden away in them.

ah ...and I have to admit recollecting the whitmarsh story a bit different ,but here it is :

http://www.motorsportmagazine.com/f1/fo ... n-and-now/

sorry no transcripts from Mansells or Hamiltons contract clauses...I´d think Whitmarsh just wanted to point out who was a pain in the....and Mansell always was one of those who had complaints and things to moan about...

And for the sake of it, let's throw in Senna's 1990 Super Licence...

...and Alberto Ascari's driver licence.
