I'm not one for unnecessary destruction but think Alonso gave his car a good send off by setting fire to it in parc ferme. 8)

He-he, yeah that made me laugh, I wondered what the hell he was doing jumping around like a crazed chimp until the camera panned over.

This is like shooting an arrow through me, like I didn't really realise F1 is not on my tv the next couple of months

Let this be a memory to all of us then.. while Renault made several ground breaking engines, especially V10's while choices often were made towards V12, they have now made the last V10 to win a championship (at least for this era)

We are indeed the champions!

yeah good bye V10..its sad to bid farewell to what an excellent engine formula. hopefully the V8 will still retain the same excellence and intangible excitement as the V10.

so no more f1 for next few months. honestly i have been missing a few races due to excessive boredom of some of the races due to kimi blow out. well...i'm looking forward for a titanic battle next year!

For the ones who are interested....Go to the Renault F1 site and look at Multimedia and video's...the first video is an overview of the Renault season...it's very nice.

Keeps the F1 spirit going for the time that there're no races. And cheer up boys...there are still other things in life than F1 and f1technical.net

I still don't get why they had to change the V10 by a V8. Why can't they just use a restrictor. The V10 engine is the best to put in an F1 car. The V10 were also quite unique, there are few cars with V10's, most supercars have V8 or V12 engines but only a few have a V10. I know you can find V10's in Vipers and some BMW M versions but still it is a lot cooler than the V8's. There's nothing special about a V8, all american sportscars have one. You can even find one in cowboy's jack pick-up.

Of course the V8's used in F1 will be totaly different but even then i still think it is a bad idea. I mean, F1 is the most prestigious motorised sport, not just the national touring cup. It should have seriously cool engines.

By using V8's the F1 cars should be a little slower. I think this will be the case the first few races but development goes so fast that after some time they will be as fast as the year before. I'm sure the V8's will have more than 900HP by the end of the year.

If you really want an F1 car to be slower, put a 2.0 four cilinder in it :D

I agree V10's are much better. But hey, we'll get used to it in time. I mean, we've even gotten used to those rediculous "grooved" tyres.

Also...V10 sounds so much better than V8. Its tru V8, V12...u hear it ALL the time when u talk about Ferrari's, Lamborghini's and other Hyper-Cars. BUT V10...now thts just sound so much more unique...so much more exotic....just so much more god-damed COOL! :D
