I don't much like Vettel winning all the time either.

But boo'ing doesn't seem appropiate.

The guy seems like a nice fella.

Well I don't see the big deal as to whether they cheer or boo.

Not quite booing, but the Italian fans went wild when the engine seized on Senna's McLaren at Monza 1989.

Didn't the booing start after the Multi 21 mess, I don't think it's connected to him winning all the time.

I remember the crowd not being really happy at Ferrari/Schumacher in Austria 2002.

Also there was a crowd not happy at Indianapolis 2005, although that wasn't really directed towards a driver.

And on another occasion, I believe in 2008 winter testing there was some racial crap directed towards Hamilton and I believe Hamilton also was boo'd at Monza once.

Horner saying after the race it isn't very sporting of the fans to boo. This is entertainment the fans do what they please.

No I don't. Personally I think Schumacher's era was more worthy of boos to be honest and the things he did were far worse than anything Vettel has done. At least Vettel's team mate had the championship in his hands in 2010 and he got a shot.

But..... Red Bull have put everyone else to the sword with technical brilliance and Vettel has grabbed it with both hands. I strongly suggest other teams and drivers pull their fingers out. Red Bull are heading towards being seconds per lap faster than anyone, not tenths. If a few boos go along with that I'd take it.

I think it's tasteless..They could say more by turning their backs to him when he recieves his trophy or interview, I think it's wrong.

Agreed about the Schumacher era but remember back then, internet trolling wasn't such a big deal

I can't figure out why this is an issue. Formula 1 is a sport. Booing happens in sports all the time.

Must we now support the emotional needs of drivers?

If a bunch of loser fans wants to boo, let them boo. No amount of booing will change anything...

i agree. people can shut down their feelings . ''boo'' is just opposite of applause. so while nobody hurts anyone i find it ok.
in this sport ,among other things, drivers and teams try to be popular too, so they play their cards on feelings of fans and try to win over their support. sometimes it backfires on them. so what???

Yeah what's wrong with a sport having passionate fans. I wouldn't cheer for the Yankees if they won the World Series just because they won it. In fact when the Yankees and Red Sox play each other each home crowd boo the other time and yell obscene things to the players all the time. You don't see anyone complaining there do you

It is called a celebration. It is extremely unsporting and bad mannered to spoil the celebration of a sporting event because you do not emotionally agree with the winner. Do you think it would be accepted at the olympics? Bad manners do not belong in the sport as personal attacks do not belong on F1technical. I simply do not want to see such things. I agree with complaining about the politics and tactics of teams but when they win fair and square you have to respect that and congratulate them. This booing is done by a small band of rich Tiffosi at least according to Red Bull who have the money to travel to races and spoil the podiums for Red Bull when Vettel wins. I think that F1 needs to do something about it. If the fans consistently misbehave the podium interviews will have to stop and they must go back to a controlled environment that cannot be manipulated by a few people who are prepared to spoil the celebration for their own narrow minded and selfish agenda.
